We had been told that the Old Town Tortilla Factory was a must-see, must-eat when visiting Phoenix, and our informant was absolutely correct. The Old Town Tortilla Factory is located in Scottsdale, and the 1400 square foot patio, shaded by century old pecan trees and cooled by an ingenious misting system, is the perfect spot to relax after a long day of sightseeing. The adjacent patio bar serves up a mind-boggling variety of icy margaritas, selecting from over 120 premium tequilas, while the handmade tortillas are out of this world.

The menu promised us Southwestern with a Mexican twist – and what a twist! Try the braised mole ribs for an appetizer, and follow up with the tequila lime salad. The tortillas are made fresh every day and come in over two dozen different flavors, served with homemade herb butter. The menu selections include beef, chicken, pork and fish all dressed up with a unique Sonoran spin, which brings the locals back to the Old Town Tortilla Factory year after year and offers visitors to Phoenix a gastronomic memory to treasure.

The Old Town Tortilla Factory has won numerous well-deserved regional awards for its ambience and delicious menu offerings. Enjoy!
